Escaped!

I arrived at this waterhole in Etosha National Park, Namibia just after sun rise. There was a lone lioness, but little else. I had visited the same waterhole the day before when hundreds of zebra had been drinking.

The lioness walked into some reeds and completely disappeared from view. I sat and waited.

Two hours later zebra were beginning to drink. Suddenly there was an explosion of dust and noise as the lioness made its attack.

On this occasion the Lioness failed to capture a Burchell's Zebra. The image captures the terror amongst the Zebra.
